Deities Within:
Advanced Teachings in Bhakti & Mantra Yoga

Mystics and scriptures teach of Deities located inside us. Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh taught that meditation on the presiding devatas within was an advanced course in Bhakti Yoga.  Sanskrit mantra and some yogic meditation techniques develop our inner senses on the path to experience new realms of divinity within.  This knowledge & mantra intensive workshop provides tools to begin or accelerate progress to discover and attune to the Devatas within.

Based upon the teachings of Namadeva Acharya, the Yoga Sutras and the experiences of advanced yogis, this workshop offers dozens of mantras and yogic teachings on:
  • Simple prerequisite practices to develop inner attunement & centeredness

  • Expanding the range of inner sensory perception, via mantra & yogic techniques

  • Mantras and other easy practices which work towards purification of energy channels & chakras to increase the illumination of our inner landscape

  • The Deities within as doorkeepers to expanded energy, awareness and knowledge
  • Beginning to redefine our concepts of our self & the world – thru the development of the inner forces by which mantras link us to the Deities and celestial realms.
  • Deities within as doorkeepers to energy, awareness & knowledge.
  • Teachings from Vedic scriptures and several classic yoga texts that provide guidelines for attunement with these inner Deities.
  • Options for basic or advanced mantra practices.
  • The need to discern between attractive psychic phenomena and the goal of spiritual realization.
Attendees will receive detailed handouts plus a recording of all workshop mantras.
“Concentration and meditation on the Devata, presiding deity of the different inner chakras, may be taken as an advanced course in Bhakti Yoga.” Swami Sivananda
