Learning Puja Ceremonies
as taught by Namadeva and Satyabhama
-- a 2 day workshop --

Presented by
Bharata Bill Francis Barry & Rajeshwari Gretchen Carmel

Priests certified by Namadeva Acharya & Sanatana Dharma Satsang.
Pujas are a form of religious ceremony performed according to precise procedures found in ancient Vedic scriptures.  Mantras, hymns, prayers and invocations are chanted in ancient Sanskrit, often called the language of the gods.  These ceremonies are performed to seek Divine assistance for all of life's needs including the resolution of karma and attainment of spiritual blessings.
This workshop will provide instruction and group exercises in the basics of the Shodashopachara (sixteen component) classical form of puja as taught by Namadeva Acharya.  Participants will gain sufficient experience and receive written and audio resources to assist in further learning and practice at home.
Participants will:
·
Learn and practice Sanskrit mantra components of puja ceremonies
·  Receive instruction in chanting the Purusha Suktam hymn which forms the basis of most Vedic ceremonies

·
Receive
digital downloads equivalent to four workshop CDs, some with slowed down audio, to assist in learning the basic puja mantras, the Purusha Suktam and six additional puja hymns, a Sant Keshavadas Puja;  plus over 50 pages of handouts to aid learning & practice .
·  Be instructed in the Shodashopachara (16 component) form of puja while learning the symbolism and proper use of the puja instruments and materials
·  Be provided with an overview of other forms of puja as well as arati and yajna (fire ceremonies).
·   Be taught the importance of attuning to the spirit and Divine energies invoked when Vedic ceremonies are performed in accordance with scripture
·   Be advised on appropriate follow-up studies involving additional Sanskrit hymns and the learning of more elaborate pujas and yajnas(fire ceremonies)

"Puja is the great Sadhana. Contained within puja are meditation, prayer, worship, healing and communion with God… Eventually, after continuous practice of puja, the outward worship we offer becomes an inner reality, our body the shrine, our heart the throne of God." Sadguru Sant Keshavadas

" The Chinese Book of Wisdom, the I Ching says, 'If one could comprehend the power of such ceremonies, he/she could rule the world as if it were a globe spinning in the palm of one's hand.' " quotation about Puja from Namadeva's book, The Ancient Power Series, Vol 1, p 26

"Puja is worship.  It becomes just a ritual when the inner meaning of the puja is not understood.  Puja is an essential part of the spiritual sadhana, or discipline.  It is a mystical communion with the divine." quotation of Sadguru Sant Keshavadas from his book Cosmic Shakti Kundalini, page 22
